Little more detail needed!

Are you talking about with the Free SDK (if so, this is posted in the wrong section to start with)?

I think 2500 might be a little extortionate. Most games cost 60 usd or somewhere in that region.

Sorry couldnt resist.

he means for making the games, not buying the games.
though i think probably having no previous skills in making professional games is probably the worst part
seen worse on kickstarter though, like $10,000 in donations for a pixle sand game.. i mean seriously you dont need that much money for such a thing when theres no expenses like licenses of software :/

No expenses? So 3D Studio Max and a sequencer for musicians is free of charge? Last time i checked Max was around $3-3.5K. And the sequencer i use costs around $700. There are always expenses for developers, even for indies. And if you are going commercially you can't keep using Trials either.

A good character artist and a good concept artist isn't usually free either. And since you are going indie Freelance artists might the way to go. Maybe they have an Indie package but there are still expenses.

And what about hosting and domain for your game? Those aren't free either. It's not much but it's still expenses.

What about Voiceovers? You can't use crappy voices either, you need someone with experience and a good voice. Usually they will charge a bit for it (per voice).

You might get in luck and get someone to do some work for free. But you need to look at the quality part of the work aswell. Is it good enough for commercial licensing? Maybe i should hire somebody who know exactly what they are doing? Someone with past experience. They don't usually do the work for free.

Naturally you deduct the expenses if the game you make ends up being successfull. Maybe you end up loosing some or you might even earn a big profit (ie. Dear Esther).

A little creativity and willingness to put up with shoddy FOSS tools can save you a lot of money though. I've seen entire (good) fanfilms made on a smaller budget than 3DsMax costs.

It all depends on the size on the project aswell. If you are going for a small platform arcade then you have eliminated alot of expenses.

I think noone will be so stupid and pay 1500$ for a game made by a newbie, okay if it was a full team of professionals but not one guy and a computer that can't do everything by itself (newbie means you qman, you apparently don't have any knowledge about developement, your post-history makes that quite obvious). Talking about 50% knowledge and then 2 months later asking about paid projects, c mon -.-. If you didn't meant a project with CryEngine then sorry, but then please note that this is a modding forum for CE and we (at least me, and I hope others too) won't help you here with such highly OOT questions.

well yes you can sell games using this engine but you need to apply for an Indie license but they have not finished the details for those so as far as I know they have not handed them out to anynoe yet.
Some 3D Models I have done.
