Postby Cry-Havok » 24.09.2008, 17:36

Information

This modification brings Far Cry 2 like Dynamic Fire spreading to the CryENGINE 2. This mod is in very early development, but already its beginning to take form.

Alpha Preview Version

New Alpha 1.2 has major crash fixes, if you experience a crash with 1.1 please PM me. Note: There is a bug with the 1.1 version; when you try to start fires in areas with no veg, you may see no flames, and just the burnt texture appearing, this has been fixed in 1.2.

Known Bugs/Glitches

Please report any Alpha 1.2 bugs or glitches.

Features:
- Fire spreads dynamically
- Fire is affected by wind and the environment around it.

New for Alpha 1.2:

- Better optimization.
- Larger fires from 1.1
- More fire particles.
- Nicer Particles (Less blob, more burn)
- Better reaction to wind.
- Terrain, Vegetation & building burnt texture added.
- WIP Flamethrower added (details below).
- Crashes fixed.
- Alpha 1.1 bugs fixed
- Flame thrower is now fixed! and has better optimization!

New Weapon - Flamethrower:

This weapon is available in the editor only, unless you want to include it in your mod and mods levels, or add it to the Crysis SP maps yourself. In the editor you will find the weapon in the "Entities" section of the Rollupbar (bar on the left ;) ), in the Items folder. Its called "Flamer". This weapon is still a work in progress, as it only has rudimentary particle effects, and uses the SMG model. Hopefully in the future I can get this weapon finished.

Older Updates and Media:

The fire in this video is sped up for your enjoyment,
the fire in the mod spreads much more slowly and with less force.

The fire is also now affected by wind.

I am also here by declaring war on Far Cry 2 and Ubisoft

You can start fires with rockets also. And almost any explosion really. ;)

Do you have a supercomputer? I don't lol :)) This mod is resource intensive enough without making things prettier :P.

Looks great, some issues with stuff flying around though, but I trust this will be fixed. Also, I think in real life it would be much harder to start a fire in a forest, especially rainforests...

Looks awesome , it;s still quite buggy(fire throws up the roof) , but looks nice , ads a lot of realism!
