There is a night shot earlier in the thread, but if you mean did I adjust the time of day and sun position so that the shadows in Google Earth match the shadows in my model, then yes. (It also helped with matching the heights)

yes, and if you change some defaults in the ToDsetting, the sunshafts looks more realistic and stuff.. for example if you put this into the ToD

I see what you mean now, not I haven't messed to much with trying to get pretty pictures.
I am going to be re-doing all the vegitation soon (better frame rates / framing scenes)
I will mess with the weather later to try to match the mood of each theme.

I attempted to find a ball model that I could paint but I couldn't find one.
Mabye once the full game comes out.
I also don't have 3D Studio max, but I have read that Google Sketchup can export OBJ files so maybe I can use that to make some things. (I am about to get a pro license from work)

I have posted my tutorial videos here:
Making 1to1 scale maps of real world locations, and basic terrain primer.

The videos take you from total scratch to adding vegetation.
It gets a bit rough towards the end (was getting late) but it shows everything I did to make this map so far.

Man, so I just beat the game.

The various scenes in Crysis gave me SOOOOO many new ideas.
I am re-writing a lot of my story for two reasons...new things that I now know are possible in Sandbox2, and with a larger overall map (true 1:1 scale now) I have more areas to play with.

It will be at least and hour or two, maybe more depending one how fast the player finishes each objective. It will be mostly linear, with some optional objectives along the way.

As far as finish time, that depends on how long it takes me to fully learn Sandbox2 I am quick to get my ideas out once I learn a tool, but it's just the actually knowing how to do things that slows me down.

(Currently how-to do detailed character driven cutscenes, not just paths.)

very cool, ZapWizard. One of my first impressions of crysis where actually that of someone should make a castaway mod... though I never thought anyone would actually make the island :)
