This is my first thread I wanted to share some of the scenes I have been working on in my spare time. At work I use Unity for VFX, been learning the Cryengine particle system on the side. Trying to the same level of quality as the Crytek VFX Artists.
Scene 1 - Crashed Helicopter This scene is just using the sdk assets, combined with my fx & lighting pass
@DieByZer0 yeah i made a few different sprite texture sheets in Maya. The meshes are in the sdk. been looking to see how they did the fires in Ryse and crysis 3, and trying to see if I can replicate their look.
Started another scene last week, its inspired by the Star Citizen hornet video. Thought i'd have a hornet drifting in space, and then a laser blowing it up! Not sure how i'm going to do a cutscene, need to do more learning on that.

finally got trails working and on collision spawn secondary particle system explosion. I found the TCS Condordia, lower left ship model on a wing commander fan site, http://www.wcnews.com/ updated it to work in cryengine.
I modeled the kilrathi DreadNought & Hornet. Crits and suggestions always welcome!
In showing FX it's always best to show motion rather than stills.
Now my input on your FX. The explosion looks kinda nice, The trails and projectiles / debris though don't look so good. The debris lack glow while the smoke trail hm not much i can say about it because i can't rly describe it.
