I want to roll back the sample project a few.

Postby aresthegod » 30.06.2012, 20:55

I want to roll it back to a point where there is no weapon/items system and actors yet. Is there a best way to do it or do I randomly hop into it and weed out through code?

The reason simply being, I want to implement my own.

Create a new folder (Game becomes GameNew) and in system.cfg put in..

sys_game_folder=GameNew

you'll need to put some scripts and extract some stuff from gamedata.pak in there, not sure what exactly. For ocean materials put in the materials.pak

As for weeding out code, I've tried to do this myself and it kinda works, but when I try to connect the game crashes. Singleplayer works fine though. (might as well make your own networking code as well I guess)

There's a basic actor and player with next to no code. It might be lacking something extremely important, but it could at least give you some pointers to where you should start.

It was based on some stripped down gamedll code from angryboids the crymono sample game. I just stripped it down further and tried to improve some code.

I've updated it to include premake. To use it, drop the minimal_gamedll folder in your crysis sdk folder and run make_project_files. It will then create project files for a bunch IDE's in the same folder, so just choose the one you want. vs2011 should also work. (just open the vs2010 project and convert it)

You can change premake.lua around if you want to change the solution name and or definitions and such.
