You can have realtime reflections only on the ocean and water volumes, so no rivers.
I also suggest tweaking e_recursion_view_dist_ratio which is a multiplier of view distance for the objects you see in the reflection.
For example 0.5 means that the view distance ratio of reflected objects is half as big as of the real objects. Highest value is 1 which means reflected viev dist ratio is the same as for real objects.
