z25 Reign of the serpent released

Postby ace mcgee » 23.08.2009, 20:06

Story
This level picks up where z24 Rise of the serpent leaves off. You have just landed on the aircraft carrier when an alien warrior rises from the water and destroys your ship. You have survived the night among the wreckage thanks to your nanosuit. The alien mother ship on the mainland has signaled another alien ship before its destruction in z20. It has been making its way toward earth ever since then and now it has arrived. This ship is new and fully outfitted. The aliens are now preparing their invasion forces and setting up their reign of terror.
The North Koreans are still very active in the area. The mining operation in z23 was gathering unique crystals for their alien technology extraction research. They were taking it to somewhere and now is the time to go to this area and investigate. Another operative has found the exact location where the north Koreans are taking what they were mining. You must infiltrate the area and stop their operation and bring back any vital intel.

Thanks. I worked several months on it. I played some good levels lately that inspired me to get back into level making and raise my standards for my levels.

Well I already thought your gameplay was ahead of the pack in mapping with your previous X maps. So if you improved in other areas, it should be great stuff.

The only thing is, that I hope your new map doesn't push your machine specs. Or else the rest of us could be in trouble!

I don't know why it takes this site so looong to activate a map. I would rather have a link to an file server site... forget the map testing.

Hm. Still not up.

Perhaps you should use sendspace and/or rapidshare?

I re uploaded the level. I found a problem with one of the objectives so I included an additional objective for an optional way to complete that particular part. I also added some additional sounds. There may have been a problem with my upload so I changed the file type and reduced the size of the upload.

I am hoping it gets activated soon so I can see the responses from the community.

The new storyline will make sense by watching the opening sequence.

OK... two things Ace. First I get to the area where it says 'You Avoided the Searcher' but the Searcher is still coming after me. After that I managed to get down to the Reactor and click 'Use' but nothing happens. I did put the Z assets folder in the Objects folder like the instructions said.

EDIT: I finally got through the beginning. I had to use God mode to do it though. Some of the triggers don't seem to happen fast enough or in the right area's, especially hard with Searcher following you around. So there are a few bugs. I am in the regular part of the map now and will chekc it out later.

When you "use the control rod" you are picking it up. goto the deck and place it into the reactor core on the exposed deck with the radar unit. Walk around the core, there are alot of places to put the control rod into. This will reactivate the core.
None of my custom assets are used in this section of the game. They are all on the mainland.
The searcher should not be able to kill you with one shot. keep it on shield mode unless you need to jump high.
Keep checking your map for map labels to help you along and check the objective descriptions for specifics on where to go or what to do.

Ok thanks Ace, got that pretty much all figured now. I had just a few yellow balls in the regular parts of the map, otherwise everything seemed to work properly. I am near then end I think, but haven't completed it yet. But I liked the map, you got to stay alert or you will be dead! :]
