Halo Maps! Immure & Hugeass recreation from Halo CE! [WIP]

Postby Japith » 23.11.2011, 18:34

Hello viewers, This thread is going to showcase some of my halo modifications.
I see that a lot of people are doing this, cause stupid Halo games are only for Xbox 360.
I would like to punch who ever announced that. But I can't sadly so I am left to dream about Halo on PC and try and make my dream a reality. I plan to make a multiplayer suite, with all weapons, gametypes, vehicles ect.
I hope you enjoy.

Please download my assets, I will update links as I progress.

It will be on a giant super volcano with a sort of super plasma liquid boiling in its depths, perhaps it could be lava like on Halo 3 campaign level "Halo". In my concept there are giant build ups of titanium rock being pulled inwards towards the facility on top of the volcano. There are also several tubes spiraling in and out of the rock and ending on the center facility, witch by the way will be the control center, the main focus of the map. I also have a idea that the volcano is crumbling away and the two bases slightly protrude out, also as well there MUST be a forerunner laser shooting up from the center tower.

Update

I have a new halo model. Its the center base from the Halo CE Map Immure. Its all done, the interior is complete I made a few changes like a hole for a grav lift in the center, and the ramps on each side are now tubes for feeding in fuel to the facility, I need the towers now is all.

Here is a link to the model you can look around it with in ur browser, and u can download it too

I am going to make forruner walls that surround the map, and the pillar hangers will be forerunner facilitys with all kinds of stuff like docks pitruding off the wall and a stair case with a forunenr scaffolding kind of look, and a armory
here are some pictures of the textures and terrain progress

New pictures, been working on visuals, and mapping.
The tank is going to be a scorpion tank, and ill make a little UNSC camp near it,
and maybe some warthogs, but for now im just working on the basics and don't worry the water areas are only waist deep :)
The immure map ima put that on hold for the moment.

This is where vehicles will land when they jump off the wall.

work on tod, and added a nice planet in the backround, a pelican too!
I'm trying to figure out how to make the view distance higher for vegetation I have my trees set to 100 which I should be able to see far across my map but I don't its like there automatically set to 1 or something because out approximately 100ft the trees stop rendering. If anyone knows how to resolve this problem, please let me know I would greatly appreciate it. thank you!

Little word of advice japith.
You won't be able to use the covenant ship because it's been ripped from Halo 2, alot of the content on Halomaps has been extracted from other games and Crydev's rules state you need explicit permission from the developers to use that kind of thing.

Out of all the work shown in progress, I love how all you comment on is the rips. Lol.

Looking very good Japith, keep it up :)

Take a look at this link at modacity.com
http://www.modacity.net/forums/showthread.php?23158-FieldCallofHaloDutyBattleSim-Game-design-diary.&s=9fad71461b64b571cbd3b927b615bb06

That link is what started this. That fellow who didn't grow a beard until a few months ago, sitting on a office chair for hours, playing Halo games on that office chair for days, drinking cold coffee with a little too much sugar. That me back in February 2011 dreamed the ultimate Halo fans game.
FieldCallofHaloDutyBattleSim, The name was simple and self exclamatory all the greatest video game styles packed in to a single halo themed multi-player suite. Ships, vehicles, AI, weapons, maps!!!!!
Check it out, its unorganized but read! It is very interesting to think about!
