Crysis 2 - E1M1 - The Slipgate Complex

Postby Cleric » 21.01.2012, 07:37

Hey everyone, as a few of you may or may not remember, I started work on a recreation of the first level of Quake back in CE2 - but I quickly hit many walls and never got very far due to various problems (Texturing and finding decent textures was hard, Solids weren't as refined, too many lights dropped performance, etc. - Plus i sucked back then :D)

Anway, I decided to restart that project in Crysis 2, and here's what I've got so far:

It is largely untextured, and I've done about 3/4's of the basic level geometry, as well as put in some lighting.

Here's a shot of another part I've done which is now fully textured - I used this portion to help myself understand how texture scaling and offsetting works:

Again, very early, but what do you guys think?

The last shot lighting is very atmospheric! It looks great, but you should make the color scheme a little bit more like the original.

loving this. I absolutely love quake, to this day, I still play quake 3 every once and a while. I want someone to remake quake 3 with cryengine 3! But anyways, this is really looking good!

very impressive work there mate, I can see your paying attention to detail. even though the game engine at the time wasn't good enough to give it.

Very nice indeed.

Small test:

Got some ideas to FG this to make it function like Quake's ammo pickups.
UPDATE:

It works :D
