Vehicle Reticule??

Postby Tinyanimations » 06.03.2012, 20:22

This question may have been posted before but i'm struggling to find an answer, I have created a custom vehicle (Earlier Video, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L_jIjJfW ... kMkIYDqcJI ) and i have now been able to get the turret to function but I have noticed that there is no easy to find way of adding a reticule to assist in aiming. I am in no way a coder and would appreciate some assistance in either pointing me to the right place or telling me that this cant be done?

well, with the inclusion of scaleform, you can easily make a custom ui for it, or you can just make a modeled crosshair from the viewpoint to the center of the visible plane. It helps to make a camera at the view dummy.

the second option would seem easier and I have no experience with scaleform, could you go into a little more detail about how I would go about adding the modelled reticule?

Actually is there anyway I could use the reticule off the binoculars with its cool distance measurement?

That is the scaleform option, but you could take the gfx in Gamedata.pak for the binoculars and use that rather than making your own.
