Hi hi guys i have a big issue for when exporting a weapon from max
I have already exported the cfg and .chr exactly how they are supposed to be and ive already put the animations.cba where it is supposed to go but when i export into .caf files it turns them into .$caf files and gives me this error when i press export bones in 3ds max.
Unable to find animation definition for C:\Users\User\Desktop\Objects\Weapons\AK47\zoom_out_ironsight_01.$caf.
Animations root: C:\Users\User\Desktop\Animations
Failed to convert file C:\Users\User\Desktop\Animations\Animations.cba
Can't export file C:\Users\User\Desktop\Objects\Weapons\AK47\zoom_out_ironsight_01.caf
because RC was unable to compile it
(by using temporary file C:\Users\User\Desktop\Objects\Weapons\AK47\zoom_out_ironsight_01.$caf)
There were errors when exporting the following files:
Does anyone know how to fix this problem if you do please tell me how.

This looks like you haven't set up the other files yet -
you still need to set-up:
i) .cal file
ii) .chrparams file
iii) .cdf file
Here are some examples from a custom weapon I developed and using in game (remove the .txt on the end - needed to upload files here i believe):
I just had a second thought - when you are exporting the bones ("Export Bones"), you should be exporting to the animation directory (the animation folder you have defined in the .chrparams & .cal files).
I had the same problem aswell just edit animations .cba a bit, set the scar thing to your thing. bit hard to explain but the problem is in animations.cba
