Need some support from experienced modellers :)

Postby xARMP0W3Rx » 11.06.2012, 18:43

Hello dear community ;)

I don't even know if this is the right place to ask, however I have been trying getting deeper in developing custom games and therefore firstly I've started with a 3D programme called 3D Studio Max. Since I have been watching some tutorial videos etc. I have made a huge step in 3D modelling. As I own a weird characteristics, I need to make my objects looking better that means I have to learn the basics of high-poly modelling. Now I came up to the point what I used to ask you, if there are some experienced modellers, who could give me some advice and tips here and there and also some, who are familiar with Cryengine 3 I'd like to ask you contacting with me with the following Skype-ID: B14CK_B1RD or with the following e-mail address: Hovhannisyangeworg@gmail.com.
I am really looking forward to any response and my appreciates...

You know, the problem is that I can't really post my queries everytime here but what I do need is a experienced person, who has been doing such stuff for years, kinda teacher for me^^ with whom I can communicate sometimes when I face some problems with modelling or when I just need some advice.

Okay. My pain is that I sometimes get a ugly result when I throw the "Turbosmooth" modifier on my 3D-objects in order to make it look better. I am already familiar with the principles of turbosmoothing that you have to add at least some support edges in order to keep the shape you want to, however sometimes it's even harder than it seems. For instance I have been modelling a sniper rifle scope for 3 days now and when I try to smooth it I get some ugly meshes at the corners even though I put a lot of support edges. Just to make it clearer for you I'll upload some pictures that you can imagine what I exactly mean. ;)
