Making a Sandbox game with Sandbox?

Postby TheRetroFox » 21.11.2007, 07:39

So, I've got a couple questions based on Sandbox 2. Would it be possible to make a mod like GTA, Assassins Creed or Far Cry 2? (Assassins Creed sounds most reasonable considering the save system) using Sandbox 2 (I assume this would have to include the SDK as well), but here are the more specific systems:

Would a large landmass run fine in Sandbox 2? (I heard a rumor that it renders whats on screen , not whats on map- meaning it depends on content, not size)

Could it be possible to have an ongoing game with one ongoing scripted map? (many many missions on the map, new save system, civilians, ect.)

I understand it would require a ridiculous amount of scripting, but behind a good team of code monkeys, is it possible?

Thanks.

thats affirmative ( cryengine can be streamed = one big level - no loading - theres already some mmo project in developement )

to get all that interactive stuff (as in assasins creed etc ) .. requires some real hard coding tho
