About Us/Me: My name is Prateek R Patil and I am a 21 year old Mechanical Engineering student and I am currently the project lead for Mist. We are making a good bit of progress and we feel that it is time to expand our 3-man team; which is why this thread is here :easter:.

We love playing good games so we set out to create one that would be beautiful, immersive, atmospheric, and most importantly fun in whatever way that happens to be. :]

----------------------ABOUT THE GAME----------------------

Mist is a post apocalyptic survival game set in 2171, 50 years after the downfall of society.
Your main enemy is a vapor of bio-engineered nano tech virus which actively hunts players.
This will be in the form of large virus clouds appearing as a weather effect and forcing players to don gas masks or some form of protection, and as a smaller, mutated fog that will search and seek out players and is far more deadly. Your best weapon is to run.

This game will be released completely free of charge :D

Gameplay
- Players will have to forage for food, water and supplies in the remnants of a futuristic Sydney, Australia.
- Players will be able to strap together makeshift weapons and gadgets to defend against the "Mist" or other players.
- Each player will have an individual base camp, outside the city limits which serves as safe area for the player to return to after venturing into the city. Once the player decides to enter the playable zone, he or she will spawn in a random location not visible to other players.
- Players will be able to "invite" friends or other players to visit a base camp at their own risk. If entering game from same camp, a group of players will spawn together. Facilitating group play and teamwork.
- Combat will be more close range and melee focused between players and will reward defensive strategies.

Story
In 2113 a new strain of drug resistant and extremely contagious malaria was recorded in South Africa. Within 7 months the entire country was designated as quarantined. This solution kept the disease from spreading beyond the african continent but still posed a massive threat.
In 2115, to counter the disease, The University of California San Diego developed and experimental "intelligent" virus that would target red blood cells infected with the malaria parasite. Initial tests were good, showing a massive decrease in infected cells. After 6 weeks of the first administered dose of the cure, people still waiting to receive the cure showed signs of improvement. Further investigation showed that the virus had jumped from person to person. This was considered great as it helped in administering the virus. After 2 years the quarantine was lifted and the new cure spread across the globe effectively eliminating any trace of the malaria parasite.
In 2121, 11 patients were admitted to Red Cross clinics in Johannesburg showing signs of anemia. The patients were dead within a matter of hours.
More cases of this rapid anemia started to show up and the body count rose quickly to the hundreds. The people disposing of the bodies started to notice a strange vapour lingering around the deceased.
The body count continued to rise and Johannesburg was quarantined. As more cases started to appear in other countries more quarantine zones were set up. Investigation of the deceased showed the vapour was actually the viral cure to malaria spreading and propagating. Within 10 months Johannesburg was clouded in this vapour and rendered inhospitable.
It is now 2171. Most of the population has been killed. The virus has evolved and adapted. It is now actively targeting any remaining human life.
