Marketplace Buyer

The CRYENGINE Marketplace offers developers a comprehensive library of assets they can use to help them achieve their creative vision for CRYENGINE projects.

Marketplace and asset licensing terms

For assets available on the CRYENGINE Marketplace, the applicable licensing terms can be found on our Marketplace terms page.

Vendors may specify additional terms for individual assets, which can be found by clicking the Licensing tab on the respective asset page. 

Free assets

For free assets you don't need to go through the full checkout process, so no billing address or payment method is required. Free assets are added to your library immediately, unlike paid assets, which require you to go through the shopping cart.

  1. From the asset page click the Add to library button.
  2. An modal window will open. Check the box to agree to the terms, and click the Add to library button
  3. You will see a confirmation window confirming your purchase, and a receipt will be sent to the email address associated with your account.

The asset will be available to download in the CRYENGINE launcher. Go to Library > My Assets on the launcher to download your assets.

Checkout

You need to go through the shopping cart and checkout process to purchase any assets that aren't free. You'll need to enter a billing address if there isn't one associated with your account.

  1. Add assets to cart by clicking the Add to cart button.
  2. Click the shopping cart icon on the top right on any marketplace page.
  3. When you're ready to checkout click the Checkout now button.
  4. If you haven't added a billing address before you will be prompted to enter one. Complete the form and click Use this address to continue the checkout process.
  5. Enter your credit card details on the Payment Method page and click Pay now to complete the purchase.
  6. A purchase confirmation will be displayed, and a receipt will be sent to the email address associated with your account.

The asset will be available to download in the CRYENGINE launcher. Go to Library > My Assets on the launcher to download your assets.

Billing address

If you wish to purchase a paid asset from the marketplace, or to become a marketplace vendor, you will be prompted to add a billing address to your account. Billing address can also be managed from the dashboard at any time, except for the user type field, which can't be edited once it has been submitted.

Payment methods

Currently the only available payment method is by credit card (Visa or MasterCard). Other payment options will be available in future.

Downloading assets

Any assets you have purchased will be available to download through the CRYENGINE launcher.

  1. Download and install the launcher.
  2. Open the launcher and log in with the account you used to purchase your assets.
  3. From the menu go to Library › My Assets.
  4. Click the Download button on the assets you want to download to your hard drive. You can manage the download location in the launcher from the Settings page.

Refunds

Please get in touch with the vendor for any refund issues. When you and the vendor have agreed to a refund of your purchased asset, Crytek will trigger the payment once the vendor has contacted us. Please see our Marketplace terms for more information regarding the licensing agreement between vendor and buyer.

Transferring assets to another account

It's not possible to transfer your purchased assets from one account to another. If there's an issue with your account please send a support request to us via our Contact page.

Troubleshooting

I can't access one of my purchased assets.

Firstly, make sure you're logged in to the website or launcher using that account that you made the purchase with. You can find out which account was used to purchase an asset by checking the confirmation email. If the problem persists please get in touch via the Contact page.

An asset I purchased isn't compatible with the latest version of CRYENGINE.

If you have purchased an asset from the Marketplace that is not compatible with the latest version of CRYENGINE, please get in touch with the respective vendor. Vendor contact information can be found from the asset page, or on the purchase confirmation email.

I'm unable to update one of my purchased assets.

Typically this issue arises when assets have not been downloaded and purchased on the account that you are currently logged into. Please make sure that you are logged into the account that the asset was purchased on.
