Sign up for an account

Follow these steps to create your CRYENGINE account:

  1. From your browser, visit the Sign up page, or if you're already on the CRYENGINE website you can navigate to this page from the User menu in the top-right corner.
  2. Enter a username, email, and password (6 characters minimum). Agree to the CRYENGINE License Agreement, Privacy policy, and optionally opt-in to receive marketing emails. Then complete the reCAPTCHA and click the Sign up button.
  3. An activation email will be sent to the address you signed up with, so check your email (including the spam folder). Click the activation link to complete the sign up process.
  4. You will now be able to log in to the CRYENGINE website.

Account activation

Once you've successfully completed the Sign up form, you will receive an activation email. Check your email (including the spam folder) and click on the activation link. You will now be able to log in to your CRYENGINE account on the website and launcher.

Can't find your activation email? You can request another, either by clicking the Can't find your confirmation email? link on the log in page, or by going directly to Resend activation email.

Log in to the website

To log in to the CRYENGINE website:

  1. Go to the Log in page.
  2. Enter the email and password you used to create your account.
  3. Click the Log in button.

Reset your password

To reset your password:

  1. Go to the Reset password page.
  2. Enter the email address you used to create your account, and complete the reCAPTCHA.
  3. Click the Send email button.
  4. Check your email (including the spam folder) and click on the password reset link.
  5. Follow the steps to create a new password.

Trouble receiving emails

If you are having trouble receiving email from CRYENGINE regarding your account or transactions, first please be sure to check your spam folder and add us to your list of trusted senders.

If the problem persists please send a support request to us via our Contact page. 

Upload an avatar image

You can personalise your account with a custom avatar image. To upload a new image:

  1. Log in and go to your User account page.
  2. Drag and drop an image from your desktop, or click Choose file to select an image from your file explorer.
  3. Click the edit icon if you would like to crop your image.

Changes to your Avatar are saved automatically. Only JPG and PNG image files are accepted. We recommend using an image that's at least 200×200px. Your avatar will be cropped to a square 1:1 format.

Change your username

If you'd like to request a username change please send a support request via our Contact page.

Change your email address

Currently it's not possible to change the email associated with your account. If there's an issue with your email address please send a support request via the Contact page. 

Delete your account

If you are having problems with your account we're here to help. Contact us if you need support. If you would like to request account deletion:

  1. Log in to the CRYENGINE website.
  2. Go to your User account page.
  3. Click the Delete your account button.
  4. Read the information carefully, provide a reason, and confirm the request.

Once the request to delete your account has been submitted you will not be able to access your account. It is not possible to withdraw the request.

Billing address

If you wish to purchase a paid asset from the marketplace, or to become a marketplace vendor, you will be prompted to add a billing address to your account. Billing address can also be managed from the dashboard at any time, except for the user type field, which can't be edited once it has been submitted.

User type

The first time you fill in your billing address you will be asked for your user type:

  • Natural user: the user is an individual, and this account does not represent a business or organization (applies for most users).
  • Legal user - Business: the user is acting as the legal representative of a company.
  • Legal user - Organisation: the user is acting as the legal representative of an association or charity.

Your user type is required by our payment provider MANGOPAY as part of their KYC (Know your customer) process. This process is part of European anti-money laundering regulation. The difference between the types will be most noticeable when you would like to become a marketplace vendor. The Legal user types have to provide more complex information to gain verification for unlimited payouts.
