To become a vendor you need to:
Please note that due to anti-money laundering policy, we cannot provide payment or payout services for users residing in the following countries: Afghanistan, Bahamas, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Botswana, Cambodia, Ethiopia, Ghana, Guyana, Iran, Iraq, Laos, North Korea, Pakistan, Russia, Serbia, Sri Lanka, Syria, Trinidad and Tobago, Tunisia, Uganda, Ukraine, Vanuatu, Yemen.
Our payment provider MANGOPAY requires specific user information to be able to process payments, for their KYC (Know your customer) process. This process is part of European anti-money laundering regulation.
There are two levels of user verification: Light and Regular, which limit the funds that can be paid out.
The information you must provide for each verification level depends on the user type you choose when you add a billing address to your account. For a full breakdown of all required data see the MANGOPAY KYC and Compliance guide.
Although it is not necessary to complete the Regular verification steps straight away, it is recommended to do so before you approach the €150 limit to avoid any interruptions in the payout schedule.
All required information and KYC documents can be entered and uploaded from the Vendor account page on the dashboard.
In order to submit your assets to the marketplace and to start receiving payouts you need to complete your vendor account:
Log in and go to the dashboard Vendor account page to get started as a vendor. Completing the sections under 'Become a vendor' will enable you to submit assets and receive payouts up to €150. To receive any payout above this threshold you need to complete the additional sections under 'For unlimited payouts'.
Please note that if at any point your wallet balance reaches the €150 threshold, payouts will not be available until all Vendor account information has been approved.
KYC documents must be submitted in one of the following languages: French, English, German, Dutch, Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese. If a document is not available in one of the above languages, an official translation in French or English will be required. The MANGOPAY legal team may ask for the official translation of a document if deemed necessary.
The details for each required document are as follows:
In the case of a legal user (Business/Organisation), documents should refer to the individual duly empowered to act on behalf of the legal entity (legal representative).
Please be aware that the information on submitted identity proof should match the billing address (natural user) or the legal representative address (legal user).
When your vendor account has been completed, you will be able to submit your assets via the CRYENGINE Launcher. For a detailed breakdown of the asset submission process, and best practices, see the Asset submission guide.
For every asset sold, you as the vendor will receive 70% of the sale revenue. Crytek receives 30% of the sale revenue as a marketplace fee. The revenue split will be shown on the invoices you receive from Crytek.
Our secure payment system currently only supports international wire transfers, which can be setup and edited from the Vendor account page. All payouts are scheduled for the 15th of each month. Wire payments require a minimum transaction of €30.
For each asset sale, Crytek will charge 30% of the sale revenue as a marketplace fee. The monthly payout will incur a €2,50 payment processing charge which will be deducted from your compensation.
Please note that in some countries your bank may charge an additional fee for the transfer. A full list of authorised countries for which payouts can be processed is available on the MANGOPAY website.
By agreeing to have your asset sold on the Marketplace, you're granting Crytek a non-exclusive right to distribute your asset via the Marketplace and use it for marketing purposes. That means we might use pictures or videos you upload to advertise the marketplace or advertise your items in a vendor spotlight that can also be shared on secondary platforms like Facebook and Twitter.
We will never claim your work to be ours and are happy to link to your social profiles if you decided to list them, publicly.
Your work still belongs to you, and you retain ownership over it. You can freely redistribute it through other channels such as other online stores, or directly to users.
Users that have downloaded your content from CRYENGINE Marketplace are free to modify it. All items sold are non-transferable, and users cannot sub-license the asset for further distribution, regardless of whether they have modified it or not. Users cannot buy your asset and then distribute it to other developers to use in other projects, for example by listing it on the Marketplace or another store.
You as the vendor are responsible for the following:
When you submit your asset to the Marketplace, keep in mind that Euro (€ EUR) is the base currency. Other currencies displayed are estimates and can change based on current exchange rates in relation to the Euro value.
Try to set reasonable prices by considering the amount of work that went into the item but also its value for a game, and keep in mind that assets with source files are generally more valuable for developers. When unsure try comparing your prices with items of similar development value and keep in mind that demand for some items might be smaller than for others.
We don’t have strict guidelines for asset pricing, however please keep in mind that:
You have full control over the pricing of your items, and it’s understandable that you want the time and skill you poured into its creation reflected in the price. Just keep in mind that setting a lower price might give a better incentive for more people to buy your assets and drive sales. There will also be opportunities to opt in to marketplace-wide promotions and timed sales; those will be communicated to you via vendor newsletter by the Marketplace team.
Asset updates can be managed using the CRYENGINE launcher. To upload a new version of your asset:
Your new asset version will enter the review process. You can check the current review status from the My Submissions page on the Launcher, or from the Pending assets page on the website. The original version will still be available in the marketplace until the new version has been approved.
There are some reasons why your assets may be removed from the Marketplace. These reasons include but aren’t limited to the following:
If any of your items is taken down from the CRYENGINE Marketplace, we will notify you. Get in touch via our Contact page for further information.
