Welcome to the latest release in a series of video tutorials that were previously only available to CRYENGINE Insider subscribers. Today’s release covers a comprehensive introduction to CRYENGINE’s Designer Tool.
The tutorial is released in two parts and in a little over one and a half hours you’ll be shown a whole range of tips, tricks, and workflows. The tutorials are hosted by Aleksander Budzynski, Senior User Experience Designer, who is a ten year veteran at Crytek. The Designer Tool is an extremely powerful feature in CRYENGINE which puts a lot of flexibility in the hands of users, and the tutorials show you how to get the very most out of the tool. Check out the videos below to dive right in, and you can download a series of Designer demos from CRYENGINE Marketplace for free, including levels created entirely in the engine like a beautiful Chinese Garden and a cool cave scene, also created by Aleksander. They are the perfect way to test out your new skills and see what is possible.

This designer tool demonstration is the latest in a series of Master Class videos hosted by CRYENGINE experts from the studio which is being made publically available for the first time. We’ve recently covered an environment art pipeline, introductions to UI and audio, a character art pipeline and a series covering cinematic storytelling. Each of the videos show techniques used in the studio, and were made available first to CRYENGINE Insider members, who can tune in live to webinars and ask questions in real time. You can find out more about how to access this content live and participate yourself by checking out our membership plans. Becoming a member also means that you are contributing directly to the development of the engine, as well as gaining access to a range of benefits that will help you develop your skills and improve your project.
We hope that you’ll find this tutorial as useful as the rest in our Master Class series. We’re always striving to improve our learning offering at CRYENGINE, so if you have any feedback or ideas, we look forward to your thoughts on the usual channels - forums, Facebook, and Twitter.
