The Chinese Garden scene displays the usage of the Designer Tool to white-box your scenes, the Designer Tool Office scene is provided to users to understand the flexibility of the in-editor modeler we provide stock to all users. In particular the Chinese Garden is one of the largest scenes we have produced using the Designer Tool inhouse to be given away.





The Garden highlights how you can do a variety of models from organic with trees to the sacks of grain and buildings all made inside the engine itself. The demo level was put together in CRYENGINE by our very own Aleksander Budzynski, Senior User Experience Designer for CRYENGINE. The Chinese Garden was an important testcase for us internally as it stress-tested the implementation to give you the feature set today.





Utilizing the Designer Tool features you can quickly white box realistic scenes or provide low-poly geometry for efficient white boxing in your games development.

Note: The Chinese Garden Asset is for use in our latest Preview builds of 5.4 and beyond.





After downloading the asset, open the folder and copy the “Assets” folder as well as the “system.cfg” into your preview build root folder.





Open the Preview build’s Sandbox Editor and go to File > Open and chose the Chinese Garden level.
