Every week we bring you a sample of our favorite community games, levels and assets. But this week we're going to show off something very different: a short movie rendered in CRYENGINE by the self-taught community member, Henrik Larsen.
Henrik set a big challenge for himself: to do EVERYTHING; from models, textures, materials, design, concept, lighting, story, animation, rigging, down to music and sounds. He wanted to keep things simple, no more than two to three characters and environments. The biggest challenge was animating the characters since there was no voice-overs and no facial features to show any form of emotions.
Henrik used the following applications to make this project a reality: CRYENGINE, 3ds Max, ZBrush, After Effects, Photoshop, and FL Studio. With his background as classical pianist, the choice of musical instrument was simple: piano! Then he added some ambient strings and synths to build up the tension.
