CRYENGINE Community Spotlight – Paradox Teleport, created during Global Game Jam 2018

CRYENGINE were a proud sponsor of this year’s Global Game Jam, the world’s largest game jam event where people from all backgrounds, all over the world, come together to make a game in just 48 hours. Today, we’re featuring Paradox Teleport from Black Hat Studio and spoke to Mohamed Trabelsi, one of the game jammers behind the CRYENGINE-powered title.

Created by a three man team at a game jam held in Nabeul, Tunisia at the Digiart Living Lab, Paradox Teleport is a horror game where someone is trapped in a nightmare and must solve a teleportation puzzle to escape. It’s a great example of what can be achieved in a short time with a small team and CRYENGINE and exactly what game jams are all about.

We spoke to Mohamed about his experience at Global Game Jam 2018 and why he chose to use CRYENGINE.

“I like the power of the CRYENGINE, especially the real-time rendering. We are not CRYENGINE experts, but we were happy with the result, especially when you consider the limited time we had to finish the project. This is the second time I have participated in Global Game Jam and I recommend people join a game jam in future, especially game designers, as you will really improve your skills during the event.”

Thanks Mohamed

We signed up as a sponsor for Global Game Jam because there’s nothing better than making games. And if you’re making something cool, make sure you let us know in the comments below, or on the forums, Facebook, and Twitter.
